AOGIN
AOGIN (Asia-Oceania Research Organization in Genital Infection and Neoplasia) is an international academic organization established in 2005. The primary goal of AOGIN is to promote cooperation and development in the areas of women’s genital infections, precancerous lesions, and cancer research, training, screening, prevention, and information dissemination across the Asia-Oceania region, with a focus on reducing the burden of diseases such as cervical cancer caused by HPV (Human Papillomavirus).
AOGIN actively promotes public health programs such as HPV vaccination, cervical cancer screening, and early diagnosis by fostering collaboration and research between countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The organization’s mission not only includes academic research but also focuses on translating research findings into practical and effective public health strategies, particularly in their implementation and promotion in low-resource areas.
AOGIN regularly holds biennial meetings, providing a platform for global experts to exchange ideas and collaborate, sharing the latest scientific discoveries, technological advancements, and prevention strategies. In addition, AOGIN actively engages in training, capacity building, and educational programs aimed at enhancing the professional skills of healthcare workers in areas such as HPV testing and cervical cancer prevention.
In the future, AOGIN will continue to contribute to the global goal of cervical cancer elimination and drive further progress in women’s health, infection control, and cancer prevention in the Asia-Pacific region.
